It's really hard to believe we only launched RTC at the end of May! The last 7 months have been full of planning events, auditioning actors, and meeting so many people in the community that are excited about what we're doing.
It all started back in May with our Launch Party. What an exciting night! 5 actors from my "Next to Normal" cast came in from NYC and did an amazing show.
It all started back in May with our Launch Party. What an exciting night! 5 actors from my "Next to Normal" cast came in from NYC and did an amazing show.
Right after the Launch we launched out Cabaret Series, Broadway in the Borough at Sprout Music Collective, where we bring in professional singers from NY and Philly to perform Broadway music. Every show since our first in April has sold out.
And then in the Fall, we decided we needed a bigger event to celebrate Mischief Night, so we joined up with Boxcar Brewpub and planned a night of murder and Broadway Music. The 6 singers performed a murder mystery with Broadway music intertwined in the story to another sold out house.
And in the beginning of December we produced a Holiday Show that benefited both RTC and Uptown! Who is buying and renovating The Armory Building into a theatre! We decided to do "It's a Wonderful Life" as a 1940s radio play, and had so much fun working with a fantastic cast from Philly and West Chester. The show was the actually presented on the air in 1947, with real sound effects and all!
So, as 2015 come to a close, we would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, come to our events, told us they're excited about what we're doing, made a donation, talked to us at street fairs, and joined the RTC community in any way. We are overwhelmed by all of the amazing people we have met, and so excited to grow the RTC tribe in 2016!
